Remove from heat and immediately submerge in ice cold water. This process helps remove any chlorophyll and other nutrients that could potentially turn bitter. Drain well and pat dry.
1. Store Pureed Kale in Ice Cube Trays
I recommend freezing kale in ice cube trays. Once frozen, transfer cubes to freezer bags. To serve, simply thaw and toss into a salad or soup. 2. Freeze Pureed Kale in Ziplocs Place kale leaves in ziploc bag and fill with water. Seal bag and freeze overnight. In the morning, drain off water and discard. Place kale leaves in a blender along with 1/4 cup of water. Blend until smooth. Pour mixture into ice cube tray and freeze. Once frozen, transfer to freezer bags. To use, simply thaw and add to recipes.
2. Store Chopped Kale in Plastic Bags
